Dosbarth Thomas, Ceiriog and Masefield visit from Techniquest
Fairfield were fortunate enough to win a free trip within the Vale as part of the Vale School Trips project.
Dosbarth Derbyn have been very busy exploring Cefn Mably Farm today. They have all had lots of fun and behaved superbly!
Thursday 4th April, Year 3 and 4 all dressed up, either as a Roman or a Celt, including the teachers! They presented offerings to the Roman Gods and Druid clan leaders and pleased them with their creative dances, raps, songs and role plays.
After that, they all went onto the bank to have a non-contact role play Roman Vs Celt battle. It was great fun and all children were superbly well behaved. Thank you to all the mums and dads who made a huge effort in making their fantastic costumes.
About 15 students from Shelley, Milton and Byron, in lower key stage 2, participated in the Mindfulness Masterpieces Club every Wednesday lunchtime for 4 weeks.
On Wednesday 27th March Fairfield girl’s football team took part in Cardiff and the Vale tournament in Gol in Leckwith.
On Monday 25th March Dosbarth Ceiriog went to the Sony Factory in Bridgend.
On Monday Fairfield welcomed STEM ambassadors into school to do workshops with year 5 & 6 as part of their topic on germs.
The children were invited to dress up in their silliest clothes for Red Nose Day! They all looked fantastic in their silliest outfits and we raised a brilliant £257 for Comic Relief. Thank you all for your donations and thank you to Ms Fletcher for your kind donation of red face paint to paint the children’s noses. Diolch!
The Pier looked wonderful during half term for the St David’s Day celebration. All the children and Mrs Smith worked hard creating beautiful daffodils, which were displayed on Penarth Pavilion. Thank you to ‘aamedia’ and ‘Seabreeze’ for sponsoring this project.
The snow didn’t stop the children from having a very fun day exploring numbers today. Lots of children dressed up in number inspired costumes from dice, calculators and even 118! They all looked absolutely fantastic!
The day also helped to raise £40.00 and awareness of the charity NSPCC. Thank you for your donations and providing the children’s costumes!
