Learning about Romans

On Tuesday 14th March the children of Years 3 and 4 were very fortunate to experience some Roman attire.

The children were thrilled to be able to try on a Roman soldier’s replica armour thanks to the parent of Owen Hill who works for Cadw. Years 3 and 4 have been learning all about Gods and Gladiators and were clever enough to be able to name all the parts of the outfit and give reasons for its design. They were amazed at how heavy it really was and even more astounded by the fact that the soldiers would have had to train and march up to 30km a day wearing it! We all concluded that roman soldiers must have been very strong and brave individuals! Thank you again to Mr Hill.
