St. David's Day 2013
Children came to school dressed in national costume, rugby shirts etc. to celebrate St. David's Day.
Children came to school dressed in national costume, rugby shirts etc. to celebrate St. David's Day. The day was very enjoyable with the children entertaining grandparents and senior citizens groups in the morning. Our guests seemed to enjoy the entertainment and were heard to comment on how great the children were. Refreshments and Welsh cakes were served by the PTA. Classes Tennyson and Wordsworth had an early lunch and then went off by train to watch the St. David's Day Festival Parade in Cardiff.
In the afternoon the children performed their class items for the rest of the school and the Eisteddfod competition results were announced with Team Glyndwr coming first with a massive 78 points - well done! The St. David Day celebrations culminated in the Chairing of the Bard.
Thanks to children, staff, PTA, parents and grandparents who all contributed to a lovely day in Fairfield.
See below for pictures of the day.
